ITDS is pleased to announce we have finalized a campus license agreement for Microsoft Office Professional on the Windows and Macintosh platforms. This entitles every EKU-owned PC to install the latest version of Microsoft Office Professional.
As part of this agreement, eligible faculty and staff members may purchase a Work at Home CD, which can be used to install the latest version of Office Professional on their home computer. Eligibility and usage restrictions do apply to this Work at Home version.

Faculty & Staff Use
-
Question:
-
Can I install Microsoft Office Professional on my home computer?
-
Answer:
-
Under the Agreement's WAH rights, university employees may install one copy of the covered programs on a home computer provided the employee is the primary user of that computer, and such copy must be used for work-related purposes.
You must meet the following conditions to be eligible:
You must be employed by the university as a full-time or part-time faculty/staff member and you must use an on-campus, university owned PC or Mac at work. Student workers and graduate assistants are not eligible.
CDs for WAH installations are special CDs purchased from the EKU Computer Store for this purpose. They are not the same CDs used to install the software on EKU owned computers.
These CDs may not be duplicated and they come with their own installation keys.
To obtain the WAH Office media, faculty and staff should contact the EKU Computer Store in the Student Services Building, Room 158 to purchase WAH CDs.
You will be required to show your EKU ID card, read and sign an acceptance document, and pay the media fee.

Question:
-
Does the Office software currently on my faculty computer need to be reinstalled under this new Campus Agreement?
-
Answer:
-
No. The license for that software was purchased through the Microsoft Academic Select Agreement and is perpetual. Therefore Office does not need to be reinstalled. You can continue using your version of Office until a newer version is released. University owned PCs and Macs are entitled to upgrade to the latest Microsoft Office version under this new agreement and are encouraged to do so upon its release.
-
Question:
-
If I am no longer an employee of the university, do I get to keep the WAH Office software installed on my home computer?
-
Answer:
-
No. If you leave the university, you must un-install the product.
-
Question:
-
I tried installing the WAH CD on my home computer but now my home computer will not boot.
-
Answer:
-
While ITDS of EKU cannot support home systems, we offer the following suggestions:
1. Boot into safe mode and see if you can uninstall MS Office.
2. For Windows XP, use the System Restore to a date before you attempted the installation.
3. Use a bootable utility type program to solve the problem.
-
Question:
